NUVIA is delighted to be a partnership sponsor of Nuclear Week in Parliament 2022 for the first time.
The event, organised by the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA), will take place in the House of Commons, House of Lords and Portcullis House between 12 -14 September. With an aim to promote the opportunities that nuclear energy presents to MP’s and the wider Parliament, the event brings together key stakeholders and decision-makers to hold productive conversations and to help drive forward the UK nuclear industry.
Last year’s event was a huge success and saw hundreds of parliamentarians and industry representatives engage over a range of events during the week and this year’s event is set to echo that – particularly in light of the drive towards Net Zero, the introduction of the British Energy Security Strategy and the recently announced planning approval for Sizewell C which will achieve a 9 million tonne reduction of CO2 emissions per year following its construction.
As part of this year’s proceedings, there will be a Nuclear Skills and Apprenticeships Fair – hosted by Charlotte Nichols MP. This is a great platform to showcase the opportunities that nuclear presents for jobs, skills and levelling up to Parliamentarians.
David Price, Key Account Director, NUVIA commented, “NUVIA are delighted to be able to support the NIA in this event, which is a huge opportunity for the nuclear industry to explain its role in achieving net zero to all areas of Parliament. NUVIA play a key role in shaping and training the future generation of nuclear specialists as well as delivering nuclear engineering solutions and radiation protection to all areas of the nuclear industry. NUVIA have been delivering their range of services for over 60 years from the early days of the Atomic Energy Research Establishment to today where NUVIA is a part of the VINCI Group.
